WHY TINT?
Window film is a microthin film composed of polyester and metallized coatings bonded by adhesives that is installed onto glass surfaces to provide significant solar protection. It screens out heat, blocks out 99% of the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays and deflects glare while allowing natural sunlight to pass through. It can turn regular glass into safety glass by increasing strength up to 300%. The most significant indicator to measure the films performance is the shading coefficient, expressed as a decimal. Industry experts stress that a shading coefficient of at least .45 is needed. Any number below .45 is better, and any above will be less effective. Site studies show that every 100 sq. ft. of window film can reduce the HVAC load of a building by as much as 12,000 BTUs or 1 ton of heat.

Today’s films can last more than twenty years. Realistically, windows in high traffic areas, such as sliding doors, or kitchen windows which get splattered with grease, may be replaced sooner. It is not unusual, however, that even these film panels will not be replaced for at least ten years.

Window films are retrofitted to buildings all over the world to improve aesthetics by giving the building a more uniform appearance while improving the efficiency and interior comfort. Protecting the interior and its contents is a large benefit of window films. The sun subjects interior spaces to harmful and damaging solar heat and ultraviolet light which is a significant factor of fading. The continuous fading and damage to furniture, carpets, draperies and merchandise is expensive. Our window films reject 99% of UV A and B rays and varying amounts of the solar heat. This protects your inventory, personal belongings and property, preserving your investment.

A reflective film can keep out as much as 80% of the sun’s energy and dramatically lower air conditioning costs. In winter, the same film will help retain interior heat, reducing heating costs.
